The Journey Begins: Insights and Innovation

Attending the Google AI Day for Startups at IIMA Ventures, Ahmedabad was an unforgettable experience. From thought-provoking panel discussions to hands-on workshops, the event highlighted the transformative power of AI for startups and innovators.

The vibrant atmosphere, interactive sessions, and opportunities to work directly with cutting-edge tools made it much more than just a conference. It was a celebration of technology and its potential to redefine industries.


Event Highlights: What Made It Special?

The event agenda was thoughtfully curated to cater to both budding entrepreneurs and seasoned professionals, covering everything from strategic discussions to technical deep dives.

1️⃣ A Visionary Panel Discussion: "AI’s Next Wave"

Industry leaders Kailashnath M S, Hardik Prajapati, and Soniya Sadhnani led an insightful conversation on the future of AI.
Key topics included:

  • The rise of AI agents in decision-making processes.

  • Multimodal AI, which merges text, images, and audio for comprehensive applications.

  • Monetization strategies for startups leveraging AI-driven innovations.

Their practical insights offered a roadmap for startups aiming to navigate the rapidly evolving AI landscape.


2️⃣ Exploring Google’s AI Ecosystem

Vijaykumar Jangamashetti (VJ) took us on a deep dive into Google’s AI tools and platforms. The session introduced us to:

  • Gemini 2.5 & Gemma 3.0: Revolutionizing generative AI with multimodal capabilities.

  • Vertex AI and AI Studio: Simplifying AI deployment and enabling custom solutions.

  • Imagen and Veo: Transforming creative AI workflows.

This session was a testament to Google’s commitment to empowering startups with the tools to innovate and scale efficiently.


3️⃣ Hands-On Codelab Session: Building with AI

The hands-on session conducted by Sourabh S Jain was a personal favorite. Attendees were guided through the process of creating an Agent app using Google’s MCP Toolbox and Agent Development Kit (ADK). Additionally, we explored the capabilities of Gemini 2.5 Pro through interactive Google Cloud codelabs.

4️⃣ Building Full-Stack AI Applications

Vrijraj Singh showcased the versatility of Firebase Studio in building and managing full-stack AI apps. The live demonstration on studio.firebase.google.com provided actionable insights on how startups can streamline their development workflows.


Hands-On Experience and Goodies

The practical sessions were not just informative but immensely engaging. Experimenting with tools like Gemini 2.5 Pro, Vertex AI, Firebase Studio and Google Cloud Platform offered a hands-on glimpse into their potential to solve real-world problems.

A delightful touch to the event was the goodies from Google, which included branded merchandise that added a personal and memorable element to the experience. Sharing this with fellow participants made the event feel like a collaborative learning journey.

My Startup Vision: Transforming Agriculture with AI

One of the most exciting aspects of the event was envisioning how Google’s AI ecosystem could align with my startup idea, eKrushak.

eKrushak focuses on leveraging IoT and AI for precision agriculture, aiming to address challenges like resource optimization and yield enhancement. With tools like Vertex AI, Gemini and Gemma, developing scalable, AI-driven solutions becomes simpler and more efficient.

These technologies not only enhance the technical feasibility of my project but also open doors to innovative applications in agriculture and beyond.
